77 days is too long - Milk Skin

yep, the remarkable debut from Milk Skin is out on 7th October:

Milk Skin are Laura K (from Tigercats and Laura K) and Tom Wade (from Owl & Mouse) helped out by Johnny Helm (the Wave Pictures) and Paul Rains (Allo Darlin and Tigercats)

the record?... a bit like a picnic with Broadcast, Beefheart and Belle and Sebastian, but don't take my word for it

77 days is too long - Nancy Sin

this year's singles club reaches its fourth release on 7th August, and non subscribers can pre-order their copies now

Nancy Sin is an indie pop band from San Diego, California. Formed in the spring of 2015 by Joey Bautista (guitar, vocals) and Nick Noble (drums), the two sought to prove that pop music in their hometown didn't always have to come straight from the beach. With "Room for Rent," an energetic blast of jangle pop, and "Again and Again," a pensive slow-burner, the band is doing exactly that. While Nancy Sin often opts to display their fun side through their instrumentation, Bautista offers a cruel, melancholy reminder that what you love won't last forever.

"Again and Again balances lightness with a hook-heavy riff. It's as if in 1990 Ride decided to play a song in the style of Teenage Fanclub's Everything Flows." - Did Not Chart

77 days is too long - Citizen Helene

the third of this year's vinyl debuts comes from the marvelous Citizen Helene

Hailing from the fossil-strewn land of Dorset’s Jurassic Coast and settling in London, Citizen Helene exudes sunshine pop with a vintage twist. Taking inspiration from 60’s pop, psychedelic folk and jazz, the result is a sound has been likened to that of Margo Guryan, Karen Carpenter and Joni Mitchell with English sensibilities.

there's even a poster designed by Pete Fowler!

77 days is too long - Deerful

yep - just 77 days to go until the debut vinyl release from Deerful, and you can pre-order the record here:

Deerful is Emma Winston. Emma is a multi-instrumentalist and singer who, after several years spent as a keyboard player and vocalist for musicians including Darren Hayman, Owl & Mouse and Enderby’s Room, decided to indulge her love for synthesisers and storytelling and begin making music of her own. She writes and performs electronic pop about running away, staying in place, brokenness, recovery, and taking up space in the world.

She plans to release an EP, Staying Still, on cassette and download this summer.

and just to add to the excitement - here's a countdown clock!

15 seconds of Moon Maps by Deerful

here's a snippet of Emma rehearsing for a gig at Servants Jazz Quarters next week, playing one of the tracks for her single on next year's wiaiwya-7777777 club:

Another tiny snippet of a rehearsal from Instagram, this time in a proper studio ( The Premises- Rehearsal and Recording Studios, London, who are brilliant!), playing Moon Maps, which isn't out until April next year. Here's 15 seconds of it. This is roughly what I will sound like live, if you're considering coming to the Servant Jazz Quarters on the 15th.
